It's Time for Change!
It is time for change in Lansing! Is is time for the State Legislature to reorient their priorities and put people first! In 2011, the business community of this state received an enormous business tax break and it has netted us few new jobs, while putting a tremendous burden on the seniors, working families and the poor. The children of our state have seen the quality of their public education decrease every year and their teachers have less pay and even less respect from our Legislature. We have seen the attacks on organized labor. We have seen the refusal to provide expanded Medicare to hundreds of thousands of citizens when it was possible to do so – and now the state is losing millions a day in Federal assistance! We drive on roads and bridges every day that are deteriorating more and more and costing millions in car and truck repair.
We have seen the quality of our lives decrease while the folks in Lansing just don’t seem to understand why people are so disgusted with them! How out of touch can they be?
It is time for a change! I promise to listen to your voices, to hear what you have to say. I promise to do my best to provide the best services possible to the people of this area. That’s what state government is supposed to do. That’s what you pay taxes for. We need better schools. We need more jobs. We need fair taxes so everyone pays their fair share. We need good roads.
As I run for office this year, let me know what you think, what you feel our area needs. That will make me a better representative of the 98th State House District.
To win this seat, I need your help! I need your donations and I need you to work hard to get me elected. This is going to be a hard-fought race! Go to the “Donate” page and offer your help and/or your donation to bring a change to Lansing! Thank you!
I’m running for State Representative because I love this state and I love the people of this area which is my home. The people in Lansing, our “representatives” have made it pretty clear by the laws they have passed and the laws they are trying to pass, that they don’t care much about the ordinary working people of this state – or about the poor and the elderly either. And I decided that I could do more good running for office than getting another petition signed or organizing another direct action or protest. Laws need to be re-written and new laws need to be passed to make this state a better place for regular folks to live and thrive.
I’m running and I believe this year, with the mood of the country, we can win this seat! I need you to volunteer for me! We can’t do this with 5 or 10 people! We need 150 people and more! PLEASE sign up for a yard sign, or a house party, or going door-to-door, or helping with mailings. I need your money! We are going to be raising our money just like Barack Obama did – from individual donors. So please, reach deep into your pockets and give whatever you can! Give whatever you can!
