Why I'm Running
Here in the 98th District, we are blessed with a diverse, vibrant community, with many different people contributing to the good of all. From the farmers to the small business owners, the creative young adults to the active seniors, all offer something to make our community great. Having lived here for over 43 years, I know this community well. My husband, Dave, and I raised our kids here. We love this area, love the people and the opportunities that are available to all. We can always do better - I want to build on what good we have here and make sure that we have a community where kids and grandkids can thrive. This is the vision I will take with me to Lansing, so that whatever policies are enacted, will build up the community, for everyone.
My top concerns are:
Jobs – Full time jobs, jobs with better minimum wages, job training for high school and those out of work. I believe that we can accomplish much by working together as a region to draw new businesses here to the Bay-Midland-Saginaw area. We have a lot to offer businesses of all kinds and we have dedicated people who are willing to work hard together to make regional success a reality.
Education – Pre-K through College (ways to reduce college debt burden), restore funding to public schools, oversight for charter schools, vocational training for high school and college age kids, as well as for adults who have been out of work and are seeking new ways to earn a living.
Roads - Our roads and bridges are a mess. The need is drastic when it will cost $1.2 billion simply to MAINTAIN what we have now. We cannot attract new business or tourists to our state with roads and bridges that are downright dangerous.
Join me in my campaign to win the 98th! I need your help to make a victory a reality!
